This 1:500 scale model of the center section of Moscow was commissioned by Nikita Khrushchev in 1968; eighteen years later it was finished. It measures 144 square meters and is made from wood. There have been other, impressive models of the city which included more color and lighting but this particular example makes up for it with its sheer scale.
