“ The culture of Unix, the old-time Net folk, and most real programmers (as opposed to macro authors with widget placement tools) would seem to support teaching new people old methods until those methods are superseded by better methods. You’re trying to hurry the demise of a stalwart method of communication in favor of one that forces old hands to acclimate to something with no clear advantages.
