An Egyptian judoka, Hesham Mesbah won the bronze medal for the 90 Kg judo in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. At the age of 26, Mesbah is already paving the way for the current national Judo team. Mesbah was driven by his brother Hany and started playing Judo at the age of 9 in Ittihad Club in Alexandria where he was born. His first coach was Fathy El-Gebily. He practiced in the Al Etehad Alsakandry club in Alexandria, Egypt. He finished second in the African Judo championships. He won the Africa games in 2007 with a gold medal.
